Dear Parents

As an entrepreneur and as a mother, I am delighted to share with you our Maplelea Girls dolls, journals and accessories. Like me, I am sure that you think carefully about the playthings you choose for your daughter. You want toys and books that entertain, but you also want them to be compatible with your own values. It is hard not to be concerned about the plethora of "diva" type dolls on the market that emphasize body image, dating, glamour and sophistication. Childhood is short enough and our daughters shouldn't wish it away, longing for the day they are older.

Maplelea Girls were created to be positive role models for our daughters. Each Maplelea Girl is a unique individual with her own preferences, interests and strengths, but all are bright, energetic, caring girls who are happy with just who they are at this time of their lives. Through the journal that accompanies the doll, your daughter will learn not only about her Maplelea Girl, but also about our country's geography and heritage. Canada is a wonderful country and knowing more about it will help our daughters become positive, caring citizens. In the second half of the journal, questions, prompts and blanks are provided for your daughter to tell her own story, because every girl has a story to tell.
